Many people ask us what the perfect Christmas gift is this year for someone with dementia or someone in care…
We strongly recommend everyone shopping for someone with dementia have a look at Dementia aids and games on Unforgettable.org
However, for the perfect all round gift, we have decided upon Christmas Gift Baskets.
Waitrose are offering festive baskets and wrapping/filling this year, all you need to do is pick goods to fill it with.
We chose a basket and filling.
Selected our favorite Free From / Vegan products (all cruelty free) and tried to offer a bit of everything.
We opted for products that someone in a care home can enjoy without too much trouble and in their room. Of course on Christmas everyone sits together for a meal, these are personal snacks and fizz to enjoy just for them. No cooking required.
Oreo chocolate biscuits
Prosecco in miniature
A local magazine
A Christmas card (Paperchase)
We think we’ll add bows later, just to smarten it up a bit.
You could add a cracker to make it more festive. Our task was especially tricky since those we’re buying for don’t like traditional Christmas foods such as mince pies or Christmas pudding. You can find vegan options of these. A cracker or tangerine often adds to the festive feel.
Here’s our finished basket:
Good luck with your Christmas basket if you decide to make one, have a Happy Christmas and a Splendid New Year!! Much love xx The DC.
